![]() Here’s what happened:Īfter repeating this experiment 20 times for 19 different chicks, they found that chicks significantly more frequently chose the screen that ended up with the larger number of objects. It didn’t matter whether the scientists started off with 3 on the right and 2 on the left or vice versa-the chicks kept choosing the screen that had the bigger number (3). Set the chick free from her watching position allowing her to look behind the screen of her choice. Record which screen she looks behind first. Remember, the chick could see the object move across the room, but she still couldn’t see the objects behind the screens. Note: we still have 5 objects in total (2+3=5). Now, there are 2 objects behind the right screen (3-1=2) and 3 objects behind the left screen (2+1 = 3). Then they moved one object from behind the right screen to behind the left screen. They didn’t use kitchen pots in their experiment. They used small yellow plastic rounded objects. Ever eaten a Kinder Surprise egg before? My Grandmother took charge and said she knew an old home remedy that bacon grease would help soothe skin issues so they brought the Chicken inside the house and proceeded to rub the bacon grease all over the Chickens body and now all they had to do was wait for the skin to heal. Anyone that has ever spent any time walking in tall grass is all too familiar with the little chiggers that attach to your skin and root their way under which causes great discomfort. It began to lose feathers and the skin was turning red from all the scratching. It seems that the Chicken had attracted several chiggers that had rooted their way under its feathers and was making the Chickens life hard. The Chicken would roam around in the field all day getting its fill of insects to eat. I began to remember a story that my Mother had told me about a chicken that she had as a child.
